I thought this booked looked really interesting and bought is some weeks ago. Unfortunately it starts really slow and academic, almost uninspiring – at least to me. But if you hang in there and work through the first chapters the book really grows on you and Chip Conley delivers a really good story with as interesting as useful insights in business and its psychology.

The author, Chip Conley, is the founder of ”Joie de Vivre Hospitality” – the second largest boutique hotelier in the world. His then rather new business was rocked to its foundations by the dramatic economic downturn in the post-dot.com and post 9/11 economy.
In this desperate situation he looked at Maslow’s concept of the Hierarchy of Needs and built on the theory of human motivation to help his business flourish once more.
